About

I have always had a passion for music. I remember the fond memories of finding a soundtrack that I loved and playing it on a portable CD player on all of my family vacations, using up an obscene amount of AA batteries. I must have listened to John William's soundtrack for A New Hope hundreds of times as a kid. At the age of 10, I began playing percussion, eventually learning the piano and guitar with a shift to composition.

Out of high school, I jumped into a degree program in Astrophysics at CU Boulder. Throughout that degree I worked on several scientific publications (looking at data from the Voyager spacecraft) and helped form a metal band with my friends. Writing our songs, ones that were often not even good, was the most fulfilling part of my life. I went back for another undergraduate degree in Music Composition and am now finishing up a Master’s in Music Composition at DU.

I’ve worked with composers such as Sean Friar, Carter Pann, Annika Socolofsky, Nathan Hall, and Steven Mackey.

Having written for ensembles such as loadbang, NOW Ensemble, CAMP, ~Nois, and several more, I am focused primarily on writing music for Chamber Ensembles. Additionally, I compose for Orchestra, Film, Videogames, and Rock/Metal. I am part of a Progressive Death Metal band “Obsidian Skies” in which I perform Guitar/Piano and work with any orchestral elements.
